Context

Atlas launched as a bank for entrepreneurs: open API, instant cards, project-level expense tracking. The release needed a recognizable brand and a site that explains the value in 5 seconds.

Challenge

No visual brand existed — only a name and a working prototype. Tight timeline to launch, complex product integrations, and regulatory limits on copy.

Approach

Brand identity with a dark palette and an acid accent, plus a tone-of-voice doc. The site shipped with a dark theme, a Three.js hero, an interactive pricing module, and an expense calculator.

Results

Daily applications grew 4.2× over the prior landing. Lighthouse 98 / 100 in production. Landing NPS 72. Atlas moved from waitlist to open beta within 30 days.

Retrospective

Dark-by-default worked — but tightened our contrast bar. We re-did half the illustrations after the first QA pass. Going forward, dark products get a dedicated contrast QA pass before release.
